2013: Looking back on two years of partnership with Gwénolé Gahinet
The partnership began in 2013, when the company wanted to mark its 50 years of existence. With the Safran company, we wanted to support a young talent on the Figaro Bénéteau circuit, a championship that has become a school for ocean racing.
This project has given me the keys to move forward.

At the age of 29 and a revelation in the 2011 Mini Transat, Gwénolé Gahinet was chosen to wear the colors of both companies and joined the Safran Sailing Team alongside Marc Guillemot and Morgan Lagravière. The transmission of knowledge and the acquisition of skills are closely linked and complementary to Safran and Guy Cotten's approach to innovation.
These have been two intense and rewarding years. I feel I've made progress on the water, but also in the way I manage a professional project. Safran and Guy Cotten have given me all the keys to move forward and the path has been mapped out.

Safran-Guy Cotten: a human adventure
Beyond sport, these two years of partnership have been marked by some great encounters for the young sailor.
Guy Cotten and Safran's teams were involved from the start of the project. I remember the exchanges with Guy Cotten's employees in Concarneau, the visits to the Safran factories, where I met dozens of young engineers, just like me. I felt supported and supported by both companies and that was really new for me!

A great sporting achievement
The skipper of Safran-Guy Cotten made an immediate good impression by winning, in a double-handed race with Paul Meilhat, the Transat AG2R La Mondiale 2014, his first official race on the Figaro Bénéteau circuit. Talented and above all hard-worker, Gwénolé Gahinet is rapidly improving. The first rookie of La Solitaire du Figaro 2014, he finished 5th in the event in 2015 and at the end of the Generali Solo, he finished a very fine 5th place in the French Elite Solo Offshore Racing Championship.
"I'm very happy with this place, it shows how consistent I've been throughout the season. I have the feeling I've reached a new level and that makes me very keen to repeat a Figaro season. It's often said that third place is decisive. I think I need to complete this process, which was started with Safran and Guy Cotten"

The results of these two years spent alongside Safran and Gwénolé are very positive. By betting on Gwénolé we made the right choice! He has great sporting and human qualities and we are proud that he has worn the colours of Guy Cotten on the Figaro circuit. He has only made progress throughout the project and he was able to share his adventures with our in-house teams. It's a great success, we wish him all the best for the future and we will continue to support him!
