UNDER THE POLE HAS LEFT FOR ITS FOURTH EXPEDITION PROGRAM!
Emmanuelle and Ghislain Bardout and their team, have cast off for the UNDER THE POLE IV - DEEPLIFE program. Until 2030, in partnership with scientific teams from around the world, they will explore the mesophotic zone of the oceans to a depth of 200 meters, for scientific knowledge and preservation.
They left the dock in Concarneau and headed for the northern archipelago of Svalbard off Norway and Greenland. The WHY will first sail for 2-3 weeks to the Norwegian port of Tromsø. This first stop will be the opportunity to refuel and change the crew, before heading to Longyearbyen, capital of the Svalbard archipelago.
We will follow closely this beautiful crew and this beautiful project! What a beautiful journey since our first meeting in 2008, when Ghislain walked through the door of the company!
When he left, after meeting François Bertholom, he had a place to host his project - Explore created by Roland Jourdain - and fabric for the sleds.
